In the 18th century, a mansion was built within the walls of St. Jorge's Castle. The mansion was classified as Historic Building and was then transformed into a hotel: Solar Do Castelo. It has been brought back to life by a high-quality contemporary design. Besides the two floors and a mansard, an inner courtyard and gardens, the hotel possesses some Medieval remains, such as the cistern, which is believed to be part of the original palace's outbuildings. It is easy to reach the Castle, Alfama, Sé Lisboa and Belveders on foot!
